How it Works

Option 1 – Budget Template

We have a few templates to help you get started on identifying all your expenses. You can use them as a starting point and customise them to fit your needs.

Option 2 – Bank Statements

You can start by importing your transaction history. This will create a budget based on your actual spending. You can manually categorise your transactions, or use the auto-categorise functionality.

Option 1 – MS Excel

Once you have build your budget, you can generate a CashSheet and download it all an a Microsoft Excel file. Once downloaded, you can use the full functionality of Excel, including adding in any one-off expenses, adjusting the cost of recurring expense to see how it impacts your cashflow etc.

Option 2 – View Online Projections

After generating your CashSheet, you can also use the Cashflow Monitoring tools online to understand what your projected net savings balance will be at any future date.

Option 1 – Compare Net Position

Your CashSheet will tell you exactly what your net cash position should be at any given date in future. Compare how close this projection is to what’s in your bank account when that date arrives.

Option 2 – Budget Category Comparison

For a more detailed analysis of where your spending is getting off track, upload your transactions to see how much you’re really spending against each budget category.

Got questions?
Well, we’ve got answers

At the moment, no – your financial data is stored within your device. We may choose to store data in future to allow users to access their CashSheet on multiple devices.

Your budget rules are currently only stored on your device, and are only used by our servers while we generate a cashsheet for download. We store your account information securely within Google’s Firebase authentication and firestore services which has both ISO27001 and SOC3 certification.

You can download your cashflows as a Microsoft Excel file. We may add a Google Sheets download option in future if there’s demand.

Yes, you should click ‘enable editing’. This is a standard warning that MS Excel gives when opening files downloaded from the internet. If the file you are opening was not downloaded from our site then you should still be sure you trust the source of the file.

If any expenses/income goes up or down, you can easily adjust the figures in your MS Excel file (you only need to update the dollar figure once on the “Cashflow Rules” tab and every instance of that item will be updated). If the pattern of your expenses/income changes significantly, or you realised you made an error, you can build and download a new MS Excel file.

Well, we tried. We initially designed the platform to support downloading the data into a spreadsheet so we weren’t expecting people to spend much time using the platform. But now it’s getting more use than we anticipated so we’ll try and make it look better in future!
